Trim Levels and Optional Packages

The 2019 G80 is available in three trim levels: 3.8, 3.3T Sport, and 5.0. The 3.8 is a very nicely equipped base trim with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, xenon headlights, automatic high beams, heated and automatically dimming side mirrors, automatic (rain-sensing) windshield wipers, dual-zone automatic temperature control, push-button ignition, and a hands-free trunk. It also gets some great modern interior features, like heated eight-way power front seats, leather seating, a power-adjustable steering wheel, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The 3.8 also comes standard with fantastic modern multimedia features, such as an infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a navigation system, two USB ports, a seven-speaker sound system, and the Genesis Connected Services telematics system. This trim level also offers two optional packages: The Sport Package and Ultimate Package. The Sport Package features 19-inch wheels, exclusive exterior trim, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, wireless device charging, a 360-degree view camera, and an upgraded audio system. The Ultimate package improves on the Sport package through the addition of LED foglights, upgraded leather seating, special matte aluminum and wood interior trim, a heated steering wheel, a larger touchscreen display, and a further upgraded Lexicon 17-speaker sound system.

The next trim, the 3.3T Sport, receives most of the Ultimate Package's features and also gets sport front seats, an adaptive suspension, carbon-fiber interior trim, and a unique exterior finish. The 5.0 Ultimate trim gets the same features as the 3.3T Sport but has a larger and more powerful engine.

Mechanical Features

Each of the G80 trims has a distinct engine. The 3.8, as the name suggests, comes standard with a 3.8-liter V6 engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It also comes standard with rear-wheel drive but is offered with all-wheel drive. For a base engine, it still delivers an impressive 311 horsepower and 293 lb.-ft. of torque. The 3.3T Sport upgrades to a turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 engine that puts out 365 horsepower and 376 lb.-ft. of torque. The 5.0 Ultimate is truly the ultimate, with its 5.0-liter V8 engine making 420 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque.

Because the engines are trim-specific, each grade of the G80 is rated differently for fuel efficiency. The 3.8 rear-wheel drive model is the most fuel efficient, getting an EPA-estimated 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. On the other end of the spectrum, the 2.0 Ultimate with AWD is the least fuel efficient, with an EPA-rated 15 mpg city and 23 mpg highway.
