Trims and Powertrains

The '20 G80 offers three trim levels: 3.8L, 3.3T Sport, and 5.0L Ultimate. The name of each trim reflects its respective engine configuration. The 3.8L gets its kick from a 3.8-liter V8 delivering 311 horsepower and 293 pounds-feet of torque. The 3.3T Sport has a turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 under the hood producing 365 hp and 376 lb.-ft. of torque, while the 5.0L Ultimate is propelled by a 5.0-liter V8 making 420 hp and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. Each of these is matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission with standard rear-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available.

Comfort and Convenience

The base 3.8L has a nice list of standard features, with heated auto-dimming side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry and ignition, and hands-free trunk release. On the inside, you'll be spoiled with heated power-adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power steering wheel, driver's seat memory functions, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The optional features for this trim include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a power trunk lid, improved leather upholstery and driver-seat adjustability, and a heated steering wheel. The 3.3T Sport adds a few sportier touches like an adaptive suspension, sport front seats, a simulated-suede headliner, and carbon-fiber interior trim. The 5.0L Ultimate is equipped like the 3.3T Sport but with the more powerful V8 engine.

Safety and Active Driver Assistance

The 2020 G80 earned a five-star crash-test safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and last year the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the G80 its highest designation, Top Safety Pick+. Genesis has been generous with active safety features, equipping all trims with standard blind-spot collision avoidance assist with rear-cross traffic alert, forward collision avoidance assist with automated emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, a driver attention warning system, and adaptive cruise control.

Each trim receives an infotainment system with integrated navigation and a standard 8-inch touchscreen (there's an upgrade available for a 9.2-inch screen), plus both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, and satellite radio. A premium Lexicon audio system, wireless phone charger, and head-up display are also available for a truly loaded G80.
