Genesis has expanded its alternative fuel lineup in an exciting way with the 2023 Electrified GV70. This counterpart to the original combustion-engine GV70 has two electric motors that produce a combined 429 horsepower, and its powerful battery enables it to travel up to 236 miles per full charge. The benefits of this no-emissions SUV keep adding up since you need to stop at the gas station for expensive fuel-ups or schedule appointments for oil changes and tune-ups. Plus, the Electrified GV70 has you covered for the long haul with its 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty and 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
Trims, Powertrain, and Performance
Electrified GV70 buyers can choose between two equipment packages: Advanced and Prestige. The powertrain is the same for both: two electric motors (one on each axle for all-wheel drive) that make 429 hp and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. According to the EPA, the Electrified GV70 has a total electric driving range of 236 miles. This corresponds to 98 MPGe (miles per gallon of gasoline equivalent) in the city and 83 MPGe on the highway.
With an 800V DC fast charger, the Electrified GV70 can go from a 10 percent to 80 percent charge in a mere 18 minutes. As a perk of your Electrified GV70, you’ll get three years of complimentary 30-minute DC fast charging sessions at any Electrify America charging station. Genesis has equipped the Electrified GV70 with a battery heater to help preserve electric range in cold weather, as well as a regenerative braking system that recycles the energy created during braking.

The Advanced Package is a treat with leather seats, a heated steering wheel (power tilt-and-telescopic), heated and ventilated front seats, a premium Ergo Motion driver’s seat (it has position memory, a cushion extender for the thighs, and adjustable side bolsters), dual-zone automatic climate control, and a fingerprint authentication system that allows you to turn the vehicle on and off. The Advanced Package also includes some fine technology features: an 8-inch digital gauge cluster, a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror, a wireless phone charger, and a vehicle-to-load (V2L) onboard charging system that can be used to power external electronics.
The Prestige Package gets even more, upgrading its cabin with Nappa leather upholstery, heated second-row seats, a synthetic-leather surround for the upper instrument panel, a microfiber suede headliner, a heated steering wheel, and manual rear door sunshades. It also has a 12.3-inch 3D digital gauge cluster, a head-up display, and active noise control technology.
Advanced Safety Features
Every Electrified GV70 is outfitted with the latest advanced driver-assist technology. The basics components are forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. The more advanced standard systems are a live-feed blind-spot view monitor, semi-automated driving assist (Highway Driving Assist II), speed limit assist, driver attention monitoring, a surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, Remote Smart Parking Assist, safe exit assist, and advanced rear occupant alert.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The infotainment system in the 2023 Electrified GV70 with the Advanced Package consists of a 14.5-inch HD touchscreen with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD radio, and satellite radio (SiriusXM), Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, and an eight-speaker sound system. The Prestige gets all of that but its sound system is upgraded to a 16-speaker Lexicon unit. Genesis Connected Services, which let you keep in touch with your vehicle remotely, come standard with both packages.
