Genesis is known for crafting sophisticated vehicles that can be enjoyed on a variety of incomes. This is especially true of the G70, which boasts a starting price well below the $50k mark. This athletic yet upscale sedan is full of fine features, and ever since its release in 2019, it has been consistently popular. For the 2023 model year, the G70 welcomes a few notable changes. For instance, all trims now come with 19-inch wheels. Also, the 2.0T Sport Prestige now gets 19-inch sport alloy wheels, a dark chrome grille, ventilated front seats, aluminum interior trim, and alloy sport pedals, and a power trunk has been added to the 3.3T Sport Prestige.
Trims and Powertrains
The ’23 G70 is a luxury compact sedan that’s available in two powertrain configurations – 2.0T and 3.3T – which each offer their own set of upgrade packages. The 2.0T has Standard and Sport Prestige packages, and while the 3.3T also has Standard and Sport Prestige packages, it’s also sold with the mid-tier Sport Advanced Package. The 2.0Ts are outfitted with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 252 hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The 3.3Ts get a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 that puts out 365 hp and 376 lb.-ft. of torque. Both have an eight-speed automatic transmission, and while rear-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available. According to the EPA, the RWD 2.0T returns an estimated 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway; with AWD, it achieves 20 city/28 highway. In exchange for their added power, the slightly thirstier 3.3Ts will give you 18 city/27 highway with RWD and 17 city/26 highway with AWD.
Equipment by Package
The 2.0T with the Standard Package has 19-inch alloy wheels, heated side mirrors with LED turn-signal indicators, a hands-free smart trunk, synthetic-leather upholstery, an 8-inch digital gauge cluster, and heated and power-adjustable front seats. With the Sport Prestige Package, the 2.0T will get sportier 19-inch alloy wheels, a wide sunroof, a dark chrome grille, power-folding side mirrors with puddle lamps, rain-sensing wipers, genuine leather upholstery, a wireless phone charger, sport aluminum interior trim, ventilated front seats, and a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column. The 3.3T Standard has the contents of the 2.0T Standard Package, as well as some of the items from the 2.0T Sport Prestige (such as the power-folding side mirrors with puddle lights, leather upholstery, and rain-sensing wipers). It also receives a unique passenger walk-in device that allows rear passengers to adjust the front passenger seat with the push of a button if more rear leg room is required.
The 3.3T Sport Advanced has the remaining features from the 2.0T Sport Prestige, on top of a bolstered driver’s seat with a power cushion extender and Digital Key. The top-end 3.3T Sport Prestige bundles Nappa leather upholstery, a microfiber suede headliner, a head-up display, a heated steering wheel, and a medley of sporty performance attributes (Brembo brakes, a limited slip differential, and an electronically controlled suspension).
