Genesis offers the G80 in two main powertrains, 2.5T and 3.5T, which each have a selection of coordinating standard equipment packages. The 2.5T uses a 300-hp 2.5-liter turbo-four, while the 3.5T has a twin-turbocharged V6 engine rated for 375 horsepower. Both include an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. The G80 2.5T has been estimated by the EPA to achieve 22 mpg in city driving and 30 mpg on the highway. The 3.5T is rated at 17 city/25 highway.
The G80 2.5T’s standard equipment package has leatherette upholstery, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a proximity key with push-button start, power front seats with 4-way lumbar and memory, an 8-inch digital driver information center, four USB ports, a 12V power outlet, dual-zone automatic climate control, adjustable interior ambient lighting, a hands-free trunk, power-folding outside mirrors, LED headlamps, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The 2.5T Advanced Package adds ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, matte-finish wood trim, tri-zone automatic climate control, power rear sunshades, a power trunk, an upgraded sound system (details are in the Infotainment and Connectivity section), and 19-inch alloy wheels.
The 2.5T Sport Prestige Package looks different with its distinct exterior styling, while adding genuine leather upholstery, a 12.3-inch 3D digital instrument cluster, the Genesis Digital Key, wireless device charging, an electronically-controlled suspension with road preview, alloy pedals, black brake calipers, additional safety features (listed in the Advanced Driver Aids section), and 19-inch sport alloy wheels.
Besides receiving the more robust engine, the G80 3.5T Sport adds to the 2.5T’s equipment list with leather seats (ventilated in the front row), a panoramic sunroof, alloy pedals, a power hands-free smart trunk with auto open, and unique 19-inch alloy wheels. The 3.5T Sport Advanced Package adds tri-zone climate control, a power rear sunshade, and the Genesis Digital Key, along with upgraded safety and tech features. The optional 3.5T Sport Prestige Package will add Nappa leather upholstery, a microfiber suede headliner and pillar covering, carbon-fiber trim, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, rear-wheel steering, an electronically-controlled suspension with sport tuning, upgraded safety features (outlined below), and 20-inch sport alloy wheels.
The 2024 G80’s generous slate of driver-assist technology includes adaptive cruise control, highway driving assist, forward collision avoidance, lane keeping assist, a driver attention monitor, lane following assist, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic avoidance, automatic high beams, a rearview camera, safe exit assist, and parking sensors. The 2.5T Sport Prestige Package adds a surround-view monitor, a blind-spot view monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, reverse parking collision assist, and advanced rear occupant alert. With the 3.5T, a surround view monitor, a blind-spot view monitor, and the advanced rear occupant alert join the standard features. The 3.5T Sport Prestige builds on that with Remote Smart Parking Assist, forward attention warning, and reverse parking collision assist.
Both the 2.5T and 3.5T have a 14.3-inch infotainment touchscreen display with a navigation system, SiriusXM satellite radio, smartphone integration (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), Bluetooth, a 12-speaker audio system, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The 2.5T Advanced Package and 3.5T Sport Advanced get the ultimate sound system, a premium Lexicon unit with 21 speakers.
