Two powertrains are offered with the 2025 GV80: 2.5T and 3.5T. The 2.5T is available in Standard, Advanced, and Prestige trim packages, while the 3.5T comes in Advanced and Prestige. Eventually, a 2.5T Select trim will be added to the lineup.
As their names indicate, the 2.5T gets a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 300 horsepower, while the 3.5T is outfitted with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 that puts out 375 hp. Both have an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. According to EPA estimates, the 2.5T returns 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, while the 3.5T achieves 16 city/22 highway.
The five-passenger 2.5T Standard comes with an assortment of plush amenities, including a power hands-free liftgate, power-folding side mirrors with Genesis logo puddle lamps, LED headlights, a self-leveling rear suspension, a leatherette upper instrument panel, dual-zone automatic climate control, a heated power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, manual rear door sunshades, ambient interior lighting, position memory settings, and a passenger walk-in device. The seats are upholstered in synthetic leather, and in the front row they’re also heated and power adjustable. The second-row seat splits 40/20/40 for versatile access to the cargo area.
For tech, the 2.5T Standard receives a personalized fingerprint authentication system, wireless phone charging, a 27-inch digital interface (which includes the gauge cluster and infotainment system), Digital Key, Genesis’s proprietary Mood Curator, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, four USB-C ports, a 110-volt power outlet, and two 12-volt power outlets. The Advanced provides a panoramic sunroof, proximity keyless entry, genuine leather upholstery, wood interior trim, and ventilated front seats. Meanwhile, the Prestige adds a driver’s seat with power bolsters and cushion extension, heated rear seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, aluminum doorsill plates, active noise control, a head-up display, and an electronically controlled suspension with road preview, which can anticipate upcoming road conditions and adjust the suspension to minimize impact.
The 3.5T Advanced bundles everything from the 2.5T Advanced, along with a power-folding third-row seat (which increases the seating capacity to seven), quad-zone automatic climate control, and several of the features listed for the 2.5T Prestige (a driver’s seat with power bolsters and cushion extension, heated rear seats, a head-up display, aluminum doorsill plates, proximity keyless entry, and push-button ignition). While the 3.5T Prestige reverts to the two-row seating arrangement and tri-zone automatic climate control, it has everything found in the 3.5T Advanced, plus an electronic limited-slip differential, microfiber suede lining the headliner and door pillars, a heated front console armrest, power closing doors, ventilated and power-adjustable second-row seats, a digital rearview mirror, and second-row vanity mirrors.
Safety is one of the 2025 GV80 SUV’s crowning achievements, as all trim levels are equipped with a full array of the most advanced driver-aid technologies. The standard list includes adaptive cruise control, speed limit assist, highway driving assist, forward attention warning, forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, automatic high beams, safe exit assist, and rear occupant alert. The 2.5T and 3.5T Advanced and Prestige also get a surround view camera, Remote Smart Parking Assist, a blind-spot view monitor, and parking collision-avoidance assist, but only the 3.5T Advanced and Prestige get parking sensors and a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines.
The GV80’s infotainment system is contained within the large 27-inch OLED digital interface, where the occupants can manage navigation, wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. While the lower trims have an excellent sound system with twelve speakers, the Advanced and Prestige trim packages for the 2.5T and 3.5T upgrade to a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system with eighteen speakers.
