2026 Genesis G70 Hero

Genesis has restructured the G70’s lineup for the 2026 model year, complete with a new trim level. The compact luxury sedan’s Sport Prestige trim level is now exclusive to the 3.3T powertrain, and the Sport Advanced has been discontinued in favor of the debuting 2.5T Prestige. The Prestige echoes some of the former Sport Advanced’s traits, such as the premium audio system and aluminum interior trim, and also comes with extras like a 360-degree surround-view camera and a blind-spot view monitor. For the rest of the lineup, the heated steering wheel – previously only included on the 3.3T Sport Prestige – is now standard on every trim except the base rear-wheel-drive 2.5T.

The color options get a refresh for 2026, with Capri Blue paint replacing Tasman Blue and Burleigh Blue Matte (introduced last model year). A new Vanilla Beige interior is now available on the 2.5T trims. With these changes, though, come some losses. The 3.3T’s electronically controlled suspension is no longer available, with the power trunk and microfiber suede headliner suffering the same fate. Changes aside, the G70 still sports its distinctive Genesis looks, led by dual-line LED headlights, and offers drivers a choice of both powertrain and drivetrain options, complemented by luxurious amenities.

Trims and Powertrain

The 2026 G70 comes with two powertrain options across three trim levels. The 2.5T engine is a 2.5-liter inline 4 turbocharged -cylinder that makes 300 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s offered with the Base and Prestige packages. The 3.3T, which pairs only with the Sport Prestige equipment package, is a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 that produces 365 horsepower and 376 lb.-ft. of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters completes both powertrains.

The two 2.5T trims return an EPA-estimated 21 mpg city and 29 mpg highway in standard rear-wheel drive (RWD), which drops slightly to 20 city/28 highway mpg with the available all-wheel drivetrain (AWD). The 3.3T Sport Prestige achieves 17 mpg city with both drivetrains; the highway fuel efficiency is 25 mpg with RWD and 23 mpg with AWD. The entire lineup gets MacPherson front struts, a multi-link rear suspension, high-performance Brembo brakes, and a drive mode selector with five settings. The Sport Prestige adds a limited-slip differential and a variable exhaust valve system.

Standard Equipment

The 2.5T Base has a leatherette interior, proximity key entry with push-button ignition, heated power-adjustable front seats, lumbar support for the driver, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster paired with analog gauges, a leatherette-trimmed instrument panel, a hands-free smart trunk with auto-open, heated exterior mirrors with integrated LED turn indicators, LED headlights and taillights, four USB ports, a 12-volt power outlet, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The AWD 2.5T Base trim adds a heated steering wheel in addition to the all-wheel drivetrain included in its name. The 2.5T Prestige is leather-upholstered, with heated and ventilated front seats with memory, a sunroof, wireless smartphone charging, power-folding electro-chromatic (auto-dimming) exterior mirrors with integrated Genesis logo puddle lights, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and aluminum interior trim. The 3.3T Sport Prestige receives a power driver’s seat bolster and cushion extension, front passenger lumbar support, a head-up display, Genesis Digital Key 2 Touch, alloy pedals, trim-exclusive aluminum interior accents, and 19-inch Sport alloy wheels.

Driver-Assist and Safety Technology

The entire 2026 G70 lineup comes standard with forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, highway driving assist, navigation-based smart cruise control, intelligent speed limit assist, high beam assist, safe exit warning, rear occupant alert, and a rearview camera. The 2.5T Prestige and 3.3T Sport Prestige both get a blind-spot monitor, a 360-degree surround-view monitor, and forward and reverse parking distance warning.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Every trim has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment setup with navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. While the 2.5T Base gets a good-quality unbranded sound system, the 2.5T Prestige and 3.3T Sport Prestige upgrade to an top-of-the-line Lexicon system with 15 speakers and two subwoofers. Every G70 is compatible with Genesis Connected Services, which includes remote start and temperature control, vehicle location, roadside assistance, and diagnostics.
