GV70 Preview
The GV70 certainly has a lot going for it, but Genesis has increased the model’s attractiveness even more with some exterior updates and a reworked cabin. These changes for model year 2027 will help the midsized crossover maintain its best-seller status in the luxury brand’s extensive lineup. The mid-cycle changes include the addition of a trim level called Prestige Graphite. It’ll assume the top position in the lineup, where darker styling and a more refined interior will distinguish it. Although Genesis hasn’t yet revealed all of the details of the ‘27 GV70, we’ve compiled a preview highlighting what we have learned so far.

Prestige Graphite Trim
The debuting Prestige Graphite trim will give the GV70 a noticeably darker and more aggressive appearance both inside and out. Genesis says that the trim’s equipment package was designed to focus the crossover’s personality on sportiness without changing the underlying platform or powertrain. We expect the Prestige Graphite to be available only with the 375-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6. On that note, look for it to have 21-inch dark metallic alloy wheels, gloss-black mirror caps, dark-chrome trim, and red brake calipers. Buyers will also be able to choose exclusive finishes, including the new-for-2027 Ceres Blue Matte and Bering Blue.
The Prestige Graphite’s interior will show off some trim-specific characteristics of its own, led by Ultramarine Nappa leather seating surfaces with suede inserts and embossed Genesis logos on the headrests. Carbon-fiber trim will take the place of some standard interior finishes, while a unique animation will change the appearance of the digital display system during startup.
Powertrains
We anticipate that the current engine lineup will continue into 2027 with few changes. The proven 300-horsepower turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine remains as the base powerplant, while the higher trim levels are expected to retain the potent 375-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission should hold each their place throughout the lineup.
Several of the chassis updates introduced during the 2026 refresh are also expected to part of the 2027 lineup. Those features include Terrain Mode for different driving conditions, electronically controlled suspension hardware, and Highway Body Motion Control, which adjusts suspension behavior to reduce body movement on uneven pavement.
The GV70’s overall driving character is not expected to change significantly for 2027. The crossover has gradually moved toward a firmer and more responsive feel than some traditional luxury SUVs, especially in the 3.5T variants, while ride comfort remains a priority for Genesis.
Features and Cabin Technology
Most of the GV70’s major interior updates already arrived for 2026, and so the dashboard design should remain largely unchanged for 2027. That includes the 27-inch OLED display that stretches across the dashboard and combines the digital instrument cluster with the infotainment system into a single widescreen panel. Genesis is also expected to continue offering premium features such as heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone integration, over-the-air updates, and Bang & Olufsen audio systems on higher trims.
Higher-priced versions of the GV70 should again offer Nappa leather upholstery, massaging front seats, a head-up display, and other premium cabin upgrades. Other features that should continue include fingerprint authentication, Genesis Connected Services, wireless device charging, and enhanced voice-recognition technology that can control various vehicle functions through natural-language commands.
Driver Aids and Safety Technology
The GV70 already includes an expansive advanced driver-assistance system, and these sophisticated features are expected to continue for 2027. Every trim should again receive forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, adaptive cruise control, highway driving assist, driver attention warning, safe exit warning, rear occupant alert, and a rearview monitor with parking guidelines. The higher trims are also expected to offer a surround-view camera and upgraded parking assist systems.
